PRESCHOOL - AGES 2-6 Hours of operation: Whittier Friends School preschool is dedicated to the growth and development of the whole child as a spiritual being, a learner, as responsible citizen and a peace maker. We strive to provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities and experiences which will help children to be cognitive and socially prepared to enter kindergarten. We seek to serve children of all ethnic and religious backgrounds in the Whittier area and are guided by the Quaker principles of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, and Equality. Tuition includes all classroom materials and art supplies. There is an annual one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $50 per child. Tuition discount for siblings is 20% if a sibling is enrolled in our preschool or elementary school. Breakfast is served to students who arrive before 9 am Nutritious snacks are prepared and served by the staff twice a day. Lunch is provided by parents. Please send nutritious, low-sugar foods for your child. Help them gain independence by sending food that requires minimum adult assistance. A microwave oven is available for warming food, though not for actual cooking.
